I met Kevin Rayburn here with some of his friends. They started some trouble and one of his buddies stabbed someone. Then his older police officer brother John Rayburn showed up. John looks down on Kevin a lot but John's the one that murdered Danny so who's really better?
We were new to the place and liked the atmosphere; our only issue (which is a big one since you need an attentive bartender) was the blonde bartender with the tattoos. First of all, her main concerns were either she was on the phone or smoking rather than paying attention to her customers. Then after finally getting served our drinks, she disappeared from behind the bar...what's that about?? Customers should not have to beg for a refill; a good bartender pays attention and doesn't let customers sit there with empty glasses. She was rude; we tipped accordingly. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the dancers, etc. Would we go back? Depends on the bartender....
We came in, ate dinner, and drank a few beers each in the bar area. We settled up and tipped the girl behind the bar well and took a table a back away from the stage. We continued drinking and I tipped every girl onstage the whole night except for two that I just didn't enjoy. One other guy at my table tipped more than half of them, and one of us only was tipping when they came over to us. Randomly, the DJ called us out over the speaker asking who was winning the contest to see who could stare longest without tipping then proceeded to say something about us having no "ding a ling?" We left. If it weren't for that, I would have stayed and kept spending money, and rated this place well and recommended it, and returned here. Maybe they don't want customers like us but there were only 2 other parties/tables even in the room...one of which I think was a girl who either worked there or used to and her friends.
My husband is in your area working. I met him down there for a weekend getaway and we visited Woody's. Everything was great except for a bartender named Renee (blond with tattoos). We had to literally hunt her down everytime we needed a refill. Sometimes she was too busy on her phone and sometimes we had no idea where she was at all, she certainly wasn't behind the bar! My husband was very upset because of the terrible service she provided. We enjoyed all other aspects of Woody's, except for the lack of good service from Renee. I'm not sure if my husband and his work buddies will go back. Maybe, if they hear that there's a better bartender there. Needless to say, i agree with him.
Poor bartending service have to wait 15-20 min to get a drink Erin is so rapped up in certain guys she ignores others! I won't be back and don't recommend this place to anyone! Bare Assets in Key West is by far the best! Even with the cover and $5 beers!
